Stephenville Lights (2008)

On January 8, 2008, dozens of witnesses in Stephenville, Texas — including a pilot, a police chief, and business owners — reported a massive silent object with bright lights moving at low altitude. Some described it as a mile wide. The object was tracked on FAA radar heading directly toward President Bush's Crawford Ranch. The Air Force initially denied any aircraft were in the area, then reversed course weeks later, claiming F-16s were conducting training exercises. MUFON's investigation confirmed radar returns consistent with witness descriptions. The radar data showed the object moving toward the presidential ranch at low altitude with no transponder — a massive security breach if it were a conventional aircraft. The case made national news and is one of the most well-documented mass sightings of the 2000s.
