Hudson Valley Wave (1982-1986)

From 1982 to 1986, thousands of witnesses across New York's Hudson Valley and Connecticut reported a massive boomerang or chevron-shaped craft with multicolored lights. The object was often described as larger than a football field, moving silently at extremely low altitude. On March 24, 1983, over 300 calls flooded police switchboards in a single evening. Witnesses included police officers, airline pilots, meteorologists, and entire families. The Taconic State Parkway sightings had drivers pulling over in mass to watch. Hynek's Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS) investigated extensively. Over 5,000 sightings were documented. The object was too large and slow-moving to be conventional aircraft, too silent to be a blimp, and appeared over populated areas for years without identification. It remains one of the largest concentrated UAP flaps in US history.
