Travis Walton Abduction (1975)

On November 5, 1975, logger Travis Walton was allegedly struck by a beam of light from a hovering disc and disappeared for five days in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. Six coworkers witnessed the beam strike and fled in panic. All six passed polygraph tests. A massive search involving sheriff's deputies, police, and volunteers found no trace of Walton. He reappeared five days later, disoriented and dehydrated, describing being aboard a craft with both humanoid and non-human beings. The case is unique because six independent witnesses saw the abduction event, all passed lie detector tests, and the disappearance was a documented police matter with an active missing persons investigation. The case formed the basis of the 1993 film 'Fire in the Sky.' Walton has maintained his account unchanged for 50+ years.
