Illinois Triangle (2000)
In the early morning hours of January 5, 2000, a massive triangular craft with bright lights was tracked by police officers across multiple jurisdictions in southwestern Illinois — from Highland to Lebanon to Shiloh to Dupo, covering about 50 miles. Officers from different departments independently described and sketched the same craft: an elongated triangle, silent, with extremely bright white lights. The object was also detected on radar at Scott Air Force Base. Each officer's account corroborated the others with no coordination. The NIDS (National Institute for Discovery Science) investigation noted the craft's trajectory passed directly over Scott AFB — a major military installation. This case is considered one of the strongest multi-witness police cases because the witnesses are trained observers from independent jurisdictions who all documented the same object in real time.
