After a TV interview in December 2012, when he thought microphones were off, Medvedev told reporters that each Russian president receives a classified briefing on aliens along with the nuclear briefcase. He stated: 'Along with the briefcase with nuclear codes, the president of the country is given a special top secret folder describing aliens that have visited our planet. Along with this, he is given a report of the special service that exercises control over aliens on the territory of our country.' When asked how many aliens are among us, he responded: 'I will not tell you how many of them are among us because it may cause panic.' He then referenced a documentary called 'Men in Black' — some interpreted this as the Will Smith film (a joke), others noted there is a Russian documentary titled 'Men in Black' about government alien contacts. The ambiguity may have been intentional — plausible deniability while putting the claim on record. Either way, a former Russian president stated on camera that incoming presidents receive alien briefings.
