Kecksburg Crash (1965)
A fireball was seen across six US states and Canada before an object crashed in the woods near Kecksburg, PA. Witnesses described an acorn-shaped metallic object about the size of a VW Beetle with hieroglyphic-like writing around its base. The US Army arrived rapidly, cordoned off the area, and removed the object on a flatbed truck under a tarp. Witnesses were told nothing happened. NASA initially denied involvement, then in 2005 admitted files had been lost. A 2003 court ordered NASA to search for the files — the result was two boxes of mostly irrelevant documents. Sometimes called 'Pennsylvania's Roswell.'
